Omicron Variant Termed Nightmare Variant – XBB (XBB.1, XBB.2, XBB.3) Reinfection, Severity, Immunity


All throughout the news articles are labelling a new Omicron sub-variant XBB the “nightmare variant”. In this video we cover all things XBB (XBB.1, XBB.2, XBB.3).

It is a recombination of two Omicron BA.2 sub-variants that first popped up a few months ago before taking hold in Singapore and causing a large influx of new cases.

Some are labelling it a surge.

It is now found in more than 26 countries including United Kingdom, Canada, United States, India, and other Asian countries.…

It has the highest reinfection potential and immune escape, even compared to BQ.1.1. This includes those vaccinated and those previously infected with BA.1, BA.2, or even BA.5. Previous monoclonal antibody treatments seem to be much less effective.…

Luckily in Singapore there has been no signs of it causing worse severity. In fact, some evidence would suggest it causes less severe disease than BA.5.…
