COVID-19 Omicron cases are increasing across the globe with hospitalizations also increasing in many places in the USA and Europe. As of now, ICU admissions and deaths are stable or decreasing in these regions. This increase in case counts seems to be primarily driven by the Omicron variants BQ.1 and BQ.1.1 in the USA and Europe. XBB cases are increasing significantly in the USA though especially in the Northeast. In this video we do a deep dive on all of this discussing what we are seeing and where we may be heading from here.

After that we do a review of Omicron variants XBB, BQ.1, and BQ.1.1 discussing what they are, mutations, transmission/contagiousness, reinfection risk, immune escape, vaccine effectiveness, treatments, and more!
