Covid-19 in 2023: A Conversation with White House Covid Coordinator Ashish Jha

We’re thrilled to have White House Covid Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha return to UCSF Medical Grand Rounds. We’ll discuss the current state of Covid, as well as long-range strategies being planned or considered in Washington, D.C. Dr. Jha is currently on leave from his position as dean of the Brown University School of Public Health. He is one of the nation’s preeminent health policy researchers and has been a trusted source of information and insight throughout the pandemic. He was also a medical resident and chief medical resident at UCSF. He’ll be interviewed by DOM Chair Bob Wachter.

Speaker: Ashish K. Jha, MD is the Biden Administration’s White House Covid-19 Response Coordinator. Before his appointment to the White House, Dr. Jha was dean of the Brown School of Public Health and a professor of Health, Policy, and Practice. Prior to joining Brown, Jha was the faculty director of the Harvard Global Health Institute from 2014 until 2020, and served as the dean for Global Strategy at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health from 2018 to 2020. Dr. Jha is a practicing physician and an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine.
